The Philosophy

One of my favorite things to do, whether I am in New York City or abroad, is scour flea markets and antique shops for treasures. The thrill of finding a diamond in the rough and learning the story behind pieces is exhilarating. However, so many times I would find treasures that I did not have the space for and had to leave them behind. As I worked with clients who were building collections from scratch, I realized the skills I developed over the years to identify high quality pieces could be shared with those who are looking to add a bit of soul to their homes.

This brand rests on six pillars: Quality, Heritage, Style, Sustainability, Accessibility, and Customization.

Quality: The fast furniture shift in 1999 that brought lower prices and rapid manufacturing prioritized cheap materials over durability. Many pieces you will find on the market today are made of MDF and particle board, mass produced by machines and only made to last a few years until the next trend comes out. The vintage pieces I source were made with higher quality materials, constructed to last for generations.

Heritage: If these pieces could talk, they would have some fabulous stories to tell. Each piece in the collection has lived many lives before this one. Every home it passes through leaves a mark, a bit of soul as the patina develops.

Style: Not every quality antique can be selected, these made the cut as I feel they will make a home feel curated, sophisticated, worldly and fashionable.

Sustainability: Buying vintage saves things from the landfill and reduces mass consumption. These timeless pieces are built to last and never go out of style.

Accessibility: Not everyone has access to these markets or the ability to visit them with the frequency needed to find the diamonds in the rough. By curating this collection, I am making these treasures accessible to everyone.

Customization: Reinventing antiques to create a custom pieces that blend history and modernity. Despite having good bones, some pieces are damaged or lose their function over time. Through reupholstery, framing, and repurposing, these items can take on a new life and become even more special.

Pieces with soul are what takes interiors from basic to sophisticated. Not everything in a house has to be vintage, but having a piece with history in each room adds a layer that just cannot be matched with something ordered from a catalogue. I hope these collections allow you to bring that little bit of history into your home, and you can become part of these pieces’ stories.
